First, it's the pacing. It's like a great roller coaster. Once you've read the first page, you'd better strap yourself in because you can't help but be taken along for the ride.
Second, the lush literary landscape is so engrossing. I feel like the book is a portal that transports me and perches me atop a tree in the Everwood to watch the events unfold with my own two eyes.
How about you?

The character's emotions as well as the scenery. It isn't described too much, but just enough to grab you and pull your imagination in.

I like the characters and the scope. THat's what really draws me in is how vast this universe is.

For me it's the vastness of the world that's been created. It almost seems like a real story. The characters are dealing with real issues. It seems timeless.

^ The depth of detail for the story world is fantastic. It really comes through the pages of the novel and brings everything to life.
